React Native for Webのメンテナンス体制がExpoチームへと引き継がれ、リポジトリをReact Foundationへ移管する計画が進められているとのことです。長年プロジェクトを牽引してきたNicolas Gallagher氏からコミュニティ主導への移行となります。

Skia GraphiteとWebGPUによるゼロコピー描画デモ#
新しいSkia Graphiteバックエンドを用いたReact Nativeの描画デモが公開されました。SkiaとWebGPUを同一GPU上で実行することでテクスチャコピーを発生させずにデータを共有し、Skia側でのテキスト配置とWebGPU側での約15,000要素の描画を両立させています。

XcodeスキームやAndroid FlavorをExpo Config Plugin経由で構成できる「expo-native-variants」が公開されました。dev、preview、prodといった各環境のApp IDやアプリアイコンを分離でき、ネイティブコード変更時のPrebuildを1回実行するだけで各ビルドを再実行なしで作成できます。

nitro fetch v1.8.0でFormDataやネイティブタイムアウトに対応#
Nitro ModulesベースのHTTPライブラリ「nitro fetch」のバージョン1.8.0が公開されました。タイムアウトのネイティブサポートやリクエスト優先度設定に加え、req.formDataおよびres.formDataへの対応が含まれています。

React Native Skiaが3.0に到達し、バックエンドがSkia Graphiteへと刷新されましたね。 これでパフォーマンスの底上げに加えて、より豊かな表現がアプリに取り入れやすくなりそうです。
リポジトリもShopify配下からwcandillon/react-native-skiaへと移管されていて、プロジェクトの体制が一段と作者主導に寄った印象です。
React Native for Webの方もnecolas氏からExpoチームへとバトンが渡り、React Foundationへの移管が進みそうですね。
RNWの行く先はずっと気がかりだったので、今回の動きでいろいろと見通しが立ちそうでひと安心です。
